Our first day in Chiang Mai was spent mountain biking down the national park – exhilarating and exhausting. From that trip, we met a fellow American traveler and instantly connected with her adventurous personality.
The next day, four of us rented a Tuk-Tuk for the day on mission to check out what the locals call “Sticky Waterfall”. It was about an hour outside of the city, through windy mountainous roads and past little tiny cute villages. Once we got there, we had the waterfall to ourselves. You climb down to the bottom of the waterfall, and you literally climb up the waterfall in the water. I have never seen anything like it before. The combination of limestone and calcium carbonate in the stone creates a sticky surface, just watch out for the very slippery green algae!
